Animal Tattoos

Lion TattoosAnimal TattoosLion Tattoos are another very popular type of tattoo that is commonly tattooed on people. The lion can represent a number of different things depending on the culture. Lions, historically have been depicted as the kings of the jungle, since they are at the top of the food chain and often have no natural predators. It is way more common for someone to tattoo a male lion on themselves, rather than a female lion. There are a number of reasons why this may be true, but the most commonly accepted reason is that the male lion is considerably stronger than the female lion, and often is the leader of the pack. If you are interested in tattooing a lion on yourself, but are unsure of what lion tattoos typically symbolize, take a look at the following information;

King
Animal TattoosLions are said to be the king of the jungle, and for a good reason. The lion has no natural predators, and generally only has to watch out for other lions and humans who would like to do the animal harm. They are known for being very fast, and unbelievably strong. Lions hunt in packs, and this is often how they are depicted in tattoos. A popular design for lion tattoos is to have the lion hunting prey. Some people go as far as to animate the scene several times on the body from the stalking all the way to the kill. One tattoo idea is to tattoo an entire jungle scene on a large area of the body, such as the back. This scene may include a lion stalking its pray from the bush, which can be a number of different animals from zebras, to elephants, gazelles or even hippos. This tattoo would require a large amount of space, time, and commitment, but it is one idea to represent the king of the jungle in a creative way.

Pride
Animal TattoosLions have always been considered to be very prideful animals. They rarely back down from a fight unless lives in their pack are actually endangered, and are often very territorial with their land. Other animals in the animal kingdom will take long routes around a lions territory if they know that they are near. This is probably a good choice. Lions have long represented pride, especially in African folklore.

Strength
Animal TattoosLions are also commonly used to represent strength. Lions themselves are unbelievably strong, and tattooing a lion on ones self can represent how strong an individual may be. These tattoos are often designed with the lion doing some sort of death defying act, or being locked in battle. This is a great way to represent the strength of the lion, as this is when the lion displays it the most.

There are many different things that a lion can represent. They are strong, brave and prideful animals that will bow down to no other animal. This makes an ideal choice for you to chose a lion tattoo design.

Elephant Tattoos

Elephant tattoos are undoubtedly beautiful, however these designs are rather uncommon in the world of body artwork. But perhaps one of the most commonly seen elephant tattoos is the Hindu god known as Ganesha, a figure portrayed to have four arms, a large stomach, one tusk and a big crown atop its head, among other detailed characteristics.

The traditional elephant is also seen from time to time, perhaps designed in the classic circus attire, a unique and unnatural color or maybe even a standalone portrait of the mammoth grey land mammal.

Enjoy this picture gallery of marvelous elephant artwork which is surely a great first step for discovering lovely artwork ideas.

Elephant tattoos look outstanding with other large African animals such as the giraffe.

I hope these excellent high quality design pictures help you uncover some sensational ideas for your own personal tattoo.

As you may know, elephants are the largest living land animals around today, and only three species are left in existence, which are the African bush, the African forest and the Asian/Indian elephant. So perhaps a tattoo of these beautiful creatures will trigger awareness for their well being.

Eagle Tattoos

As we mentioned before, if you are an animal lover and seeking a bird tattoo of any type, you are in for a treat, because bird tattoos are hands down some of the most captivatingly beautiful works of art on the market.

Not surprisingly eagle tattoos are perhaps the most common of all bird designs, which comes naturally for those of us in America, when you consider that eagles go hand in hand with the American flag and are symbolic of freedom, prosperity and patriotism towards the United States.

Enjoy this picture gallery of fantastic eagle artwork which will most certainly help you come up with a few ideas.

The most common location for an eagle tattoo includes the back, chest, bicep and calf area.

As for the details of the actual design, it seems that many people like to have the eagle donning open wings to appear in flight or perhaps swooping or striking its prey.

Some people choose to combined multiple designs into one piece of art, however unlike many other tattoo ideas, an eagle is such a prominently beautiful creature they look exceptionally bold as a stand along piece of artwork.
